Patrick Carney de The Black Keys dice que la banda "se jodió" antes de despedir a la gerencia por la cancelación de la gira por Norteamérica
Patrick Carney of The Black Keys claims that following their management's separation and cancellation of their North American tour, the band "got screwed."
Announced back in April, the Akron, Ohio band announced their "International Players Tour," with 31 gigs across the US and Canada from September to November this year.
Late last month, it was claimed, nevertheless, that the whole set of events had been suddenly canceled without any justification. Shortly later, in response to rumors that the relocation was motivated by low ticket sales, the members revealed the cancellation, stating it was scrapped and re-planned in favor of smaller theater venues as highlighted on their recent European performances.
Furthermore, Carney, the drummer of the band, has already spoken out on social media. In his first post on X almost a year, he said, "We got fucked."
We passed out. I will let you all know how to avoid this. Wait tuned.
"I will let everyone know how to avoid this from happening to you. Keep tuned, he remarked.
Recent days saw fresh revelations by Billboard that the band had split from Irving Azoff and Steve Moir of Full Stop Management in what was said to be an amicable parting from their management team.
Other Black Keys headlines featured the pair on Later... performing two songs from their most recent album with Jools Holland earlier this month. Among which "On The Game" saw them highlight co-writer Noel Gallagher.
This arrived just a few weeks after he appeared on stage for their London performances. The band asked the former Oasis musician to join them on the O2 Academy Brixton encore.
The Black Keys visited NME last year and remembered their experience collaborating with the "incredible" songwriter in the studio before then.
"He's hilarious and really gifted," remarked Carney. "We were referring to him as 'The Chord Lord,' since he is simply a perfectionist with it."
The band’s 12th studio album ‘Ohio Players’, which includes ‘On The Game’, was released on April 5. NME said in a three-star review: "It feels like it's about impact over depth, tamping down flyaway elements into a homogenised whole that more closely resembles last year's 'Dropout Boogie than any of the seven inch singles that got an airing during the writing process." Though "Ohio Players" is the work of a band who are maybe too skilled at being themselves, The Black Keys have a terrific record collection.
Dan Auerbach of the band also featured on the newly published Johnny Cash song "Spotlight," last week. With Auerbach among several artists adding fresh sections to the original to bring it up to current, the song incorporates vocals from the country icon first recorded in 1993. The song will be on "Songwriter," Cash's whole unreleased song collection scheduled for later this year.
